As the team here at Pym’s continues to grow, we chatted to Steve Lane about his background, what makes him tick, what he finds most rewarding about his work, and what he likes to do when he’s not behind his desk. Here’s what he had to say . . .

“I’m in my 26th year in the MedTech industry. Having worked in many surgical and disease specialities, I have a very broad understanding of healthcare and its challenges. The majority of my career has been commercially focused and has included senior roles in large and small companies. Most recently, I have focused on early-stage companies, leading companies through commercial launches and market introductions.

“I really enjoy the creative process involved in commercialising medical technology, and I am fortunate to have done this many times in my career. Moving into consultancy and working with Pym’s means I am able to do what I love, which is to help companies overcome challenges to unlock their potential. I can do this by bringing my extensive experience to bear for the benefit of our clients. Since starting as a senior associate with Pym’s, I have already helped a number of early-stage companies with their commercialisation challenges, and I look forward to continuing to do more of the same.

“When I’m not working, I enjoy coaching my eldest son’s rugby team, walking the dog in the West Oxfordshire countryside and spending time with my family. I especially enjoy family holidays that involve walking up Welsh, Scottish or Cumbrian mountains!”
