Join a National Research Project to Shape the Future of Organ Transplant Communication

by | 12 Jun, 2025 | Blog, Business, Commercial, Healthcare, Press Release

The OrQA-UK trial, a major research study aiming to reduce the number of donated organs that go unused, has been awarded funding by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

The OrQA tool uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help assess donor livers, supporting clinical decisions in real time and potentially enabling more successful transplants for those in need.

As part of this research, we are creating public-facing information about the trial and the technology – and we want to do this with you.

We’re inviting:

  • Patients on transplant waiting lists
  • People expecting to need a transplant in the future
  • Living organ donors
  • Families of donors
  • Members of the public interested in health and AI

to join co-production groups. These groups will help shape:

  • A Patient Information Leaflet for people on the transplant list
  • An animated video explaining the OrQA trial and its potential impact
  • Infographics to explain trial progress and findings.

You’ll be invited to attend in-person and/or online workshops, where you’ll work with our team to review and refine these materials. You don’t need any prior experience – just a willingness to share your perspective.

The first of these workshops will take place in central London on 2nd July 2025, starting early afternoon for around one hour.

If your organisation works with people who might like to be involved, or if you personally would like to take part, we’d love to hear from you.
