Technology Transfer

One of the greatest privileges in my working career is working with spin-out and startup companies. These companies are led by highly motivated people with life-changing ideas, who are looking for the market insight and structure to move their products and services into healthcare markets.

These individuals also need drive, commitment, and money. Many of the people I work with work ridiculously long hours, evenings, and weekends to get their companies off the ground. This does help (as long as the activity is constructively directed), but there always comes a point when investment is needed.

Until recently I would suggest that clients speak to other organisations when seeking funding, but now I am very happy to have Steve Lane working with Pym’s. Steve is familiar with start-up funding for new companies and bringing products and services to market.  Both of us met whilst working at Baxter Healthcare, where we had roles looking at innovative new approaches in delivering services, so we have a similar mindset when it comes to innovation.

Both Steve and I can explore the potential of your product or service, and even make the initial forays into sales. I then move into support for sales teams, training and procurement processes, whereas Steve looks at the need for funding and how to approach potential investors. We can also call associates with specialist expertise in sales, marketing, and social media.

Pym’s is a registered provider with multiple UK universities, so if you work in Tech Transfer, or are looking to spin out a company from a larger organisation, why not get in touch? The initial consultation is free of charge.
