Wow! What a cracking start to 2025. Things are getting busy out there. Lots of projects to be completed and strategies to be developed.
After a dismal start to 2024 with investment in healthcare seeming to be all but non-existent, this time last year was not a good time for many of us, innovators and consultants alike, but with this sort of January I can only predict good things for the UK health industry in 2025.
Yes, money is short in the system, but that’s when people start thinking innovatively in business and strategically on healthcare delivery. The time is now, people!
I have been really heartened to hear positive approaches to doing things differently, and with the publication of the new NHS plan for Reforming elective care for patients this is an opportunity for lateral thinkers to provide right patient, right care, right place.
There are so many opportunities, because doing what we’ve always done is only going to give us what we have always got……waiting lists, staff shortages and an unhappy population.
Having said that, not so sure about the approach to employment reform. It has never been so expensive or high-risk to employ staff in the UK. If the government wants to reduce unemployment, why not consider some benefits to employers who register and pay tax in the UK? We small business owners are meant to take all the risks, with the only benefit being no one telling you what to do, except your accountant, the government, your clients………need I say more?
In the meantime, every cloud and all that. If you don’t want to take the risk of new staff, especially at a senior level, until you have been able to validate strategy and test the role, there are plenty of consultants available to help. So, get in touch, and our team can help your business grow into 2025.
